Rice and gram kheer made in Goa Karnataka region
This type is very simple ... which can be made from easily available materials. So let's start the recipe with the ingredients it needs ....
Rice - Herb Pulses Kheer:
Ingredients:
Half a cup of rice (you can use any type of rice here except boiled)
1 handful of gram dal (enough to fit in your hand)
2-3 teaspoons of ghee (If you like it, you can add more ... Diet conscious people should take care of it)
Half a cup of grated / finely chopped jaggery, dry fruits (to your liking), 4 cloves, 2 cinnamon pieces, 1 pinch of salt, 2 - 3 glasses of water, half a teaspoon of cardamom powder, a teaspoon of turmeric
Method: First combine rice and gram dal in a cooker and wash it clean 2-3 times. Now add 1 glass of water and after 3 whistles, turn off the gas and wait for it to cool down. (You should check your Facebook, WhatsApp until the cooker cools down ... Cooker will cool down until you make a few comments on Facebook).
Lift the whistle of the cooker and check it. When the air is completely gone, remove the lid and add salt and knead well. If the water is low, add 1 glass of water to it (the consistency of kheer depends on how thin you want it to be. Add 2-3 teaspoons of ghee to the pan. Once the ghee is hot, add cloves, cinnamon pieces and dry fruits, stir well, pour the mixture in the cooker and mix well. Bring to a boil, add grated jaggery, turmeric and cardamom powder and keep stirring.
When jaggery is mixed with khiri, boil it for 2-3 times, turn off the heat and cover it and leave it for a while. Take a bowl while serving. Add kheer. Add some milk. Heat a little again, add ghee and serve.
