The origin of biryani

Biryani is one of the most popular in India today.

Today we will talk a little bit about the origin of biryani

"Biryani" means fried before cooking and "birinj" means rice in Persian, "biryani" is a gift from Persia, and is believed to have come to India through the Mughals. Biryani is said to have been invented by the Mughals themselves.

History has it that Mumtaz Mahal, the queen of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, developed a type of biryani in the year 1600, specially designed to power his army.

Timur, the king of Turkic Mongols, brought this type of biryani with him to India in 1398, especially as a strong food for his army.

In a large earthen pot, rice, spices, and meat were mixed together, a pit was dug in the ground, and the pots were set on fire, and the pots were removed while eating.

In the 2nd century AD, Arab traders on the South Malabar coast used to come to India frequently.

The Nizam of Hyderabad and the Nawab of Lucknow also have a special monopoly on biryani. They have their own biryani special recipes, which are famous all over the world, they have mastery. No one can still hold their hand in the biryani

Now biryani is made all over India

Everyone has come up with their own unique way of making biryani, so we can all taste different biryani.
