Solapur Zilla Parishad teacher Mr. Ranjit Singh Disley as Global Teacher Award
India gets first honor Glorified as the best teacher in the world
The Global Teacher Prize, jointly organized by UNESCO and the London-based Warkey Foundation, was announced.
The Rs 7 crore award was given to Ranjit Singh Disley, a teacher at Paritewadi Zilla Parishad School, Solapur.
The official announcement was made by Stephen Fry at a ceremony at the Natural History Museum in London.
He has become the first Indian teacher to receive such an award. Disley Teacher has been announced as the final winner out of the nominations of 12,000 teachers from 140 countries around the world.
This award has been announced not only for Maharashtra but also for the work done in the field of education in the country through QR coded books.
